BHUBANESWAR: Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, the principle disciple of Amritanandamayi Devi, visited the school Amrita Vidya Peetham, under construction at Janla. The school, which will be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, will have classes from Standard I to XII. The admissions to the school are likely to start from 2013 academic session. Swami Amritaswarupananda, who visited the site, was pleased with the progress of the construction work. He advised for early completion of the construction and commencement of the admission process. The school will be run by the management of Amrita Vidya Peetham, renowned for its educational activities. It will be a four-storey building with ample space for the students. Local candidates will be recruited as teachers and a few will be brought from the ashram. The specialty of the school will be the activity centre and the spiritual courses.  Swami elaborated on the basic principles of life and how everyone was chasing materialistic success and lack of contentment at the satsang and bhajan organised by the ashram. He said people were living an unhappy life as they were giving undue importance to materialistic life.   Swami spoke in English which was translated into Odia by one of the disciples. State Election Commissioner Ajit Tripathy, State Congress president Niranjan Patnaik, Chief Information Commissioner Satyananda Mishra and MLA Debasish Nayak were among the prominent personalities present at the satsang. Swami is the foremost disciple of Amma and is also the vice-chairman of Amrita Vidya Peetham Deemed University. He has been associated with Amma for more than 30 years.
