Maoists fire at Dantewada massacre probe team
The Maoists were reportedly dressed in Central Reserve Police Force uniform and fled after firing a few rounds.

Raipur: Maoists on Saturday fired at the security personnel of former Border Security Force Director General EN Rammohan, who is heading the one-man enquiry committee set up to investigate the Dantewada massacre in which 76 security personnel were killed.

The Maoists were reportedly dressed in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) uniform and opened fire at the team as it was going towards the April 6 massacre site on Saturday morning.

"Some exchange of fire took place about three km from the Dantewada massacre site. It is just a small exchange of fire. People who fired at the team were Naxalites. No one has been rounded up but it is difficult to say the number of Naxalites. It's a small matter and no one has been injured in the firing," said Dantewada Superintendent of Police Amrish Mishra.

The rebels fled after firing a few random shots at the securitymen comprising CRPF and local police personnel guarding Rammohan. No one was injured in the firing.

Rammohan was accompanied by Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Vishwa Ranjan and CRPF Special Director General Vijay Raman.

He will enquire and establish the circumstances preceding and the sequence of events leading to the April 6 attack in which 75 CRPF and a local police head constable were killed brutally by the Maoists.
