Man kills wife and daughter; hangs self

A man allegedly killed his wife and three-year-old daughter here following which he hanged himself, police said on Saturday.

26-year old property dealer Ashu Kumar killed his wife Shah Kumbhri (24) and daughter Chhavi with a sharp object at their residence in Rampuri locality under Kotwali police station on Friday night, before committing suicide, Superintendent of Police H N Singh said.

Kumar however, spared his four-year old son, who has been handed over to his relatives.

No suicide note was recovered from the site and reason behind the killing is yet to be ascertained, Singh said, adding that bodies have been sent for postmortem.

Investigations in the matter are on, police said.
