Man arrested for supplying pirated CDs

An electronics shop owner was arrested in Seoni for allegedly selling and distributing pirated CDs and DVDs, police said on Monday.

Sanjay Jain, owner of Venus CD and Electronics, was apprehended on Sunday and a haul of 1156 CDs and 2215 DVDs seized from his possession after Kotwali police raided his shop, they said.

Police said some of the CDs have pornographic content. Jain was supplying CDs to nearby villages and districts, they said.

A case under various sections of IPC and IT Act has been registered against Jain. The complaint against Jain was lodged by Star Copyright Production.
