Man arrested for conning youths with jobs

BHUBANESWAR: Police have arrested a person who defrauded youths and made lakhs of rupees promising them jobs.Shakti Prasad Das, a resident of Cuttack, was arrested after Kharavela Nagar Police received complaints of cheating. Das is believed to have minted close to a million rupees from several youths who wanted jobs in the private sector.  Police swung into action after a complaint was lodged by one Rudra Prasad Das who had paid the accused ` 80,000 for a job with an insurance company. He neither kept his promise nor did he return the complainant’s money.Son of a government employee, Das has apparently cheated more than half a dozen youths. Police suspect there could be more.In a separate incident, three youths landed in a police station after one of them kissed a girl in a restaurant on Sunday afternoon. In fact, the matter was reported to police by some other guests present at the restaurant.
