New Delhi: Madhuri Dixit has taken the decision to return to India after staying in the US for 15 years with her husband and two kids. Earlier she had tweeted – “For all my fans, we r relocating to India! It will b good to b back home.”
Media reports have quoted her saying that her returning home was bound to happen one day anyway. The reports say that she called this move per-ordained and said that they were all very excited, especially the kids.
Madhuri Dixit has ruled Bollywood for over a decade since the 1980’s making her an undisputed queen of hearts. And as a shocker to all, she quit her sparkling career at the highest peak and chose marriage and family over the silver screen and moved to Denver, Colorado. 'Dil To Pagal Hai' released in 1997 and the same year, her performance in 'Mrityudand' won her critical acclaim. Just a year-and-a-half later, she gave it all up.
The media reports say that Madhuri has begun looking for a school for Arin, a grade III student and Ryan, who is in grade 1. Her husband Dr Nene is also in touch with his friends in the medical field and some top hospitals in the city.
When asked what the driving factor was behind the decision to relocate, she told the media that both she and her husband wanted the children to grow up in India.
“It would be a great experience culturally for them. This is where their roots are. They are at an age where they can adapt quickly. They'll be giving up their friends here, but they are looking forward to making friends there. I want them to learn Hindi and Marathi. I think it will be an exciting time for them too,” she was quoted.
Bollywood has changed massively in the last 15 years that she was missing in action. Her return to India could be an oppurtunity in disguise to take over the top slot amongst actresses again.
Though Madhuri’s last venture – ‘Aja Nachle’ did not fare well in the box office, she never really vanished from the mind. She has been remembered as Chadramukhi from ‘Devdas’ and as MF Hussian’s muse.
We sure hope a sparkling come back is on the cards.
