KOCHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is probing into the lottery cases will seek the help of Interpol for carrying out the investigation about Santiago Martin’s tie up with officials in Bhutan. The CBI Kochi unit will write a letter to the CBI Headquarters, New Delhi, in this regard. The sources with the CBI said that the agency could not conduct an independent probe into the case in Bhutan as there is no provision for the inquiry there. “At present, we cannot carry out any probe into the lottery case in Bhutan. Hence we will send a proposal to the CBI Central headquarters, New Delhi, to seek the help of the Interpol in this case. There are several allies who had close connection with Santiago Martin in Bhutan who have played good part in the scam,” sources said. The CBI is planning to send questionnaire to Bhutan police for the investigation. It will also ask the permission of Bhutan Government and the police there so that CBI can directly question the officials of the Bhutan. The CBI has also sent notices to Santiago Martin’s allies in Bhutan in connection with the case.
