KOCHI: With the e-payment gateway provided by  the Industrial Development Bank of India  (IDBI) running into troubled waters, the Kerala State Electricity Board is poised to scrap the  service providers. The KSEB that had tied up with the IDBI in  July is finding it difficult with the e-payment facility, which has led the Board to think of discontinuing the bank’s services. “There are certain issues related to the e-payment gateway provided by the IDBI. They have been given a week’s time to rectify the flaws. If the problems are not sorted out within the time given to them, the Board will have to severe the ties with them on the payment gateway,” KSEB Director (IT) Sudley Cardoza told ‘Express’.During the agreement, the IDBI had said that they had tie-ups with around 40 banks.  But it was seen that they had no tie-ups with some of the banks under the State Bank group, he said. Most of the customers were having accounts in banks under the State Bank groups, he said. The IDBI had said that they would take up the issue with other banks. “If they are not able to sort out the issues and come up with a flawless service, then the Board will have no other option but to pull out of the agreement,” he said.In the meeting last month, the bank had given many excuses and has stated that they would be rectifying the issues at the earliest, Cardoza said. Most of the companies call us and complaint about the service, he said, and added the companies had been asked to make the payments as they used to in earlier times.
