Kids on stir: Officials at Gobindpur to inquire

PARADIP: A team of district administration officials visited Gobindpur village on Monday to inquire into deployment of children in the anti-Posco agitation by Posco Pratirodha Sangram Samiti. The step was taken at the direction of Women and Child Development Minister Anjali Behera.About 500 children are leading the anti-Posco agitation for the last 15 days as the State Government deployed over 600 armed security personnel to enter Dhinkia gram panchayat, considered epicentre of the six-year-old anti-displacement movement. The children have formed human barricade to prevent the land acquisition officials from entering the village.District Child Welfare Committee led by its chairman Ramnarayan Das and another team led by District Social Welfare Officer Kumuduni Sahu visited the village to take stock of the situation. They also visited four government schools in the village and interacted with the teachers concerned.
