CHENNAI: Police suspect Satish Kumar, a 25-year-old law graduate, who was reported missing in Thirumangalam limits, near Anna Nagar on Tuesday, may have been kidnapped. The police had found Satish Kumar’s two-wheeler and mobile phone at ICF. After Satish’s father Shankarasubbu (50), a lawyer in the Madras High Court, had filed a habeas corpus petition in the court, a team of senior police officials and over 20 fire personnel conducted a search in the lake at ICF North Colony on Saturday. A sniffer dog was also pressed into service. His parents had lodged a complaint at the Thirumangalam police station that night. Meanwhile, an abandoned two-wheeler was reported found in ICF police station limits on June 9. Following a habeas corpus filed by the lawyer, police investigations revealed that the abandoned two-wheeler belonged to the missing man. Police also found Satish’s mobile phone in the two-wheeler. They are gathering Satish’s call details for the last 10 days.A search was also conducted in the park surrounding the lake where cops found a box on which names of two couples were written. One of the names was Satish Kumar alongside the name of a woman. The same names were also etched on a tree in the park.
