BANGALORE: Former minister and MLA Katta Subramanya Naidu’s hide and seek ended on Saturday as he appeared before the Special Lokayukta Court along with his son, corporator Katta Jagadish and others, accused in connection with a Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) land scam. Naidu is the main accused in the case related to alleged irregularities in the allotment of KIADB land with regard to acquisition 325 acres of land involving ITASCA company in Bandekodiganahalli. He also filed an application seeking bail in the matter on Saturday. Special Public Prosecutor J S Pramod Chandra objected to granting them bail. The Lokayukta police filed objections to bail application of other accused along with Katta Jagdish. They had moved for bail on the last date of hearing in which Katta had remained absent citing that he had received the summons and that he was in abroad over a business trip. However, since the accused had not been furnished with copies of the chargesheet running into 18,000 pages, they sought copies of it and time to go through the 41 volumes of documents to put forth their arguments. After the Lokayukta police furnished copies of the charge-sheet to the accused, the Judge adjourned the case to July 26 for arguments. The prosecution also submitted that it would adopt the same objections filed to other accused in bail application filed by Katta Subramanya Naidu. The Special Lokayukta Court Judge Sudheendra Rao on Saturday also issued non-bailable warrants against two accused S Jaggaiah and B L Venkaiah.
