A Maoist guerrilla allegedly involved in the killing of Pakur Superintendent of Police (SP) Amarjit Balihar was arrested in Jharkhand’s Dumka district on Monday, police said.
According to police, Sapan Desra was arrested from a jungle situated under Kathikund police station where Balihar was killed. Police sources said that Desra had given the ambush team the alert about the movement of Balihar's convoy.
Desra, during interrogation, revealed that 30 to 35 Maoists were involved in the attack. He is being interrogated to get detailed information of the attack.
In another development, police arrested People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) zonal commander Kailesh Yadav along with his three other rebels from Nagri area in Ranchi on Monday. Police seized one revolver and liver cartridges from the arrested ultras.
