BANGALORE: Accusing the government for not recognising Kannada Authors, BV Satyanarayan Rao lashed out at the state government for having neglected achievers like him, who have contributed to Kannada Literature. “I am a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer by profession, I resigned from my job as an assistant general manager in order to focus on studying Kannada, my contribution was not even recognised by them,” said a very frustrated Satyanarayan Rao while showing the gathered press numerous books which have carried his work. He bases his works on “Bhamini Shatpadi”(The most prevalent meter of the Middle Kannada poets Raghavanka, Kumaravyasa and Lakshmisha). “An ancient poet of Kannada, Sagaravarni wrote five poems in Bhamini Shatpadi and it was considered a great achievement for that time, today I have framed eleven poems in Bhamini Shatpadi and have sent it to the Guiness Book of World Records”.He stated that local achievers in Karnataka are being neglected by the government. “There are many people like me who work for the state, language and culture. Why cant the government think of us before selecting the awardees,” he asked while discussing the list of Rajyotsava awardees. “I have been writing for 20 years now, I do not want anything like this to happen with someone else,” he added.
