Kalabhabhishekam held at Sabarimala

PATHANAMTHITTA: Kalabhabhishekam was conducted at Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple on the second day of the Malayalam month of Meenam on Thursday.As part of the ritual, thantri Kandararu Maheswararu performed the kalabhakalasa pooja in the presence of melsanthi G Balamurali in the nalambalam at 11.30 am.Before performing the kalabhabhishekam on the idol, the procession carrying the kalabhakalasam was taken out under the leadership of the thantri and the melsanthi by circumambulating the sreekovil.Sahasrakalasam was the other special ritual held. Udayasthamana pooja, pushpabhishekam and padi pooja were the other rituals conducted. The temple would be closed on March 18 evening after the conclusion of five-day monthly poojas.
