PUDUCHERRY: Jordan has 7,000 years of history behind it. Tourists can visit Madaba, which has the oldest mosaic map of the Middle East on the floor, the largest open air spa, lowest spot on earth and the Dead Sea, said Ashish Sharma, PR and marketing Consultant (India) from the Jordan Tourism Board(JTB)on Tuesday. The JTB organised a product presentation for the first time in Puducherry to attract tourists from the region to visit Jordan. Speaking at a presentation for tour and travel operators on religious, historical, leisure, wellness and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) tourism segments for the market, he said “We believe that a market exists in Puducherry.”Puducherry has a wealthy population that travels on vacations and in this regard JTB is trying to attract them to explore new areas in Jordan. Except the months from December-end to mid-February when it snows, other times of the year are good for a visit, he added.
