Ranchi: The voter turnout in first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections was recorded at 61.92 per cent; the Election Commission however said that the figure is likely to go up.
The polling for 13 of the 81 Assembly constituencies in Jharkhand, spread over six Maoist-affected districts, ended at 3 PM on Tuesday evening amid tight security.
The state will cast votes for electing the new assembly in five phases statring from November 25. The counting is scheduled for December 23.
