A supporter of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh, who was expelled from BJP for contesting Lok Sabha elections as an Independent, has accused party candidate from Barmer seat Sonaram of concealing facts in his affidavit submitted to the election department.
Jaswant's supporter, Kailash Mehta, said that he had made a complaint in this regard to the district election officer this evening, demanding rejection of the nomination of Sonaram for "concealing" information with regard to his assets.
However, the officer did not confirm whether such complaint has been filed.
Mehta, who was BJP's Barmer city president before being expelled from the party yesterday for supporting Jaswant, alleged that in the affidavit submitted along with nomination, Sonaram understated value of assets and did not present correct figures in certain columns.
When contacted, the district election officer and collector Bhanu Prakash said that he was not aware of such complaint and will examine if such complaint was submitted.
