Port of Spain: India will face a strong Jamaican side led by Wavell Hinds in their tour opener on May 16 at Jarrett Park.

The Jamaican Cricket Association named a 15-man squad, which includes eight Test players, for the one-dayer against the touring Indian team. The squad includes Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Daren Powell and Jermaine Lawson.

"It should be a very strong Jamaican team going up against the Indians," JCA, cricket operations manager, Brian Breese was qouted as saying in Jamaica Gleaner.

Breese said there was a chance that one or two of the players named in the squad might not play in the game.

"The West Indies team will be playing the Indians two days after the Montego Bay game so the West Indies Cricket Board could well ask one or two of the players named to sit out the game," said Breese.

Meanwhile Rahul Dravid's men will get a warm welcome in Montego Bay, as the city's Indian community is all set to host a reception for them.

India take on West Indies in a five match ODI series, the first of which will be played in Jamaica on May 18, followed by four Tests.

Jamaica squad: Wavell Hinds (captain), Chris Gayle, Donovan Pagon, Marlon Samuels, Daren Powell, Jerome Taylor, Nikita Miller, Carlton Baugh Jr., Jermaine Lawson, Tamar Lambert, Bevon Brown, Danza Hyatt, Andrew Richardson, Damion Ebanks and Donovan Sinclair.
