Jadavpur University molestation case: Governor seeks report as students continue protests
The students have alleged that the University's internal probe into the matter was unfair and have demanded a fresh probe into the case.

Kolkata: The protests at Kolkata's Jadavpur University over the hostel molestation incident continued on Thursday with the students boycotting their classes and holding demonstrations outside the campus. The police said that the University's Salt Lake campus also witnessed a protest rally by students demanding the Vice Chancellor's resignation.

Governor KN Tripathi has now sought a report on the incident. Sources said that the state Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and the Vice Chancellor of the University were meeting the Governor.

The Police Commissioner said that the situation was volatile. The students have alleged that the University's internal probe into the matter was unfair and have demanded a fresh probe into the case.

On Wednesday, 35 protesting students were arrested by the police.
