New Delhi: The Central Government's move to take a Muslim census in the Army has been taken to the Supreme Court.

The petition is likely to come up for a hearing on Tuesday.

On Friday the issue of Muslim census had rocked Parliament with the BJP alleging that the government was playing votebank politics.

Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee had rejected the Opposition's charge.
