Mumbai: Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia says the presence of Irrfan in his films leads him to write extraordinary stuff as he knows the actor can pull off anything.
"Irrfan is my friend and together we have done many films. He pushes me and my skills as as a writer and director. When Irrfan is there, I don't do anything ordinary. In fact, I go out of my way while writing as I know Irrfan is doing it and he can pull it off," the 45-year-old said here Friday in an interview.
"It's always a privilege to work with Irrfan. He is my friend. He is such a fantastic actor that he tends to push out the actor within me," he added.
Dhulia has made films like 'Haasil', 'Charas: A Joint Operation', 'Paan Singh Tomar' and now 'Sahib, Biwi aur Gangster Returns' with Irrfan.
He said it is always comfortable to work with friends as a cordial 'give and take' relationship can exist.
"When you work with friends, there is not only a comfort zone, but your work is also polished. Give and take is good. If a person who you don't like suggests you something, you will never take his suggestions but if a friend would suggest then you would listen to him," Dhulia said.
"And when you speak, he will listen to you and work becomes interesting and innovative and people also like it," added the filmmaker.
'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns' also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill and Soha Ali Khan and released this Friday to a good response.
