HYDERABAD: The third International Kuchipudi Dance Convention by Silicon Andhra is all set to happen this December from 28 to 30 in association with the Department of Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh, to be held at the Gachibowli Sports Complex. The Grand Finale will be held in the presence of 40,000 people at GMC Balayogi Stadium in the same complex. For the convention, organisers plan on converting the Gachibowli Sports Village into a Natya Gramam (dance village). A Maha Brinda Natyam is being organised as the grand finale where 4000 dancers will perform the ‘Brahmanjali’ (Pooja Natyam) and ‘Dasavataramulu’ (Sabdam, Mohana Ragam).The audio/video to teach/practice will be made available shortly. As a tribute to Sri Siddhendra Yogi, organisers wish to break the old record set at the second convention by 2850 dancers.The International Kuchipudi Convention is planned to bring together five generations of dancers from living legends to current students who are learning this art form to promote and further perpetuate this centuries old dance form. More than 6000 delegates are expected to attend from all over India and also from countries around the world.
