Indore: CBSE conducts CTET, results to be out in September
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) was conducted on Sunday by the CBSE for the appointment of teachers. The results are expected to be declared in September. The examination was conducted in two shifts at eight centres in the city. For the primary stage, candidates who have cleared higher secondary examination with 50% marks in diploma in elementary education can take the test. In the secondary stage, candidates should be a graduate and hold two-year diploma in education, BA, BSc, BA (Education).

Indore: SICA organises Talent Day

The South Indian Cultural Association (SICA) organised a Talent Day for its members and their children. The programme saw participation of people from different age groups ranging from 5 and 75. From classical dances like Bharatnatyam and Kathak, to western dance like Hip Hop were performed by artistes. People also presented group and solo songs.

Indore: Shishukunj International School organises  exhibition

Shishukunj International School organised an exhibition ‘Pratibimb’ in school campus on Sunday. The artistic and aesthetic works of students showcasing an array of charts and working models were displayed in the exhibition. They also delivered dance performances, theatre and made models on the potters’ wheel.

Indore: Faiqa Saulat Khan named educationalist of year               

Dr Faiqa Saulat Khan, an eminent educationist, was named ‘Educationist of the year 2012-2013’ by the Silverzone Foundation. Khan was selected in the principal category. He is the former principal of Global Indian International School. Khan has also received many prestigious awards for her innovative teaching and dedicated services.

Bhopal: Pvt Engg colleges to reduce seats by 30% from next year

Due to extremely poor response of admission in private engineering colleges, the state is considering to reduce the seat capacity by 30% from the next academic session. The idea was discussed in a meeting of the representative of private technical colleges with the officials of directorate of technical education (DTE) on Sunday. Despite three rounds of counseling, only 38,000 seats have been occupied this year.
