Al Ain, UAE: Veteran Mansher Singh led Indian trap shooters' impressive display as he jointly held the top spot after two rounds in the men's trap qualifying event on the first day of the ISSF Shotgun World Cup here on Wednesday.
Mansher shot a perfect 25 each in the two rounds with the remaining three to be held on Thursday. He was sharing the top spot with Slovakia's Marian Kovacocy and Giovanni Pellielo of Italy.
The other two Indians in the fray - Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Zoravar Singh Sandhu - were placed fourth and fifth after shooting 24 and 25 each respectively for a total of 49.
The tournament, however, started on a sour note for the Indian women trap shooters as none of them cleared the qualifying hurdle.
Shreyasi Singh was the best-placed Indian at 25th position after she shot 64 over three rounds.
Seema Tomar was way behind at 33rd after shooting 61, while Varsha Varman was further down at the 40th position with a score of 59.
Mansher and Co. would look to maintain their impressive performance on Thursday and take a shot at the medals.
India will also field its shooters in the double trap and skeet events.
