In BJP's Dalit Outreach, Legislators Asked to Visit Villages to Spell Out Party's Stand in SC/ST Act

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning a massive Dalit outreach beginning next week. The party legislators and MPs are being asked to fan out to villages across the country to communicate party's stand in the backdrop of recent protests on Supreme Court ruling on SC/ST Act.
More than 20,000 villages with more than 50% Dalit population have been identified and elected representatives of the party have been told to spend a night in the village.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi told party MPs at the BJP parliamentary party meeting on Friday that while the government is trying to unite the people, the opposition is playing decisive politics.
The mass outreach is being called sabka saath sabka vikas yatra.
Ten people were killed and many other were injured in protests on Monday called by Dalit organisations against recent apex court ruling on SC/ST Act. The government later filed a petition seeking review of the court order.
