I wanted to expose his true face

CHENNAI: In his first face-off with Crime Branch CID sleuths, Swami Nithyananda’s former devotee Lenin Karuppan has claimed that he filmed the controversial sex video showing the swami being intimate with actress Ranjita in order “to expose the true face of the godman.”Lenin surrendered at the CB-CID headquarters in Guindy on Wednesday afternoon after his attempts to secure anticipatory bail in a case of extortion and blackmail, registered against him at the Pondy Bazaar police station and later transferred to CB-CID, failed in various courts.Grilled by a team led by DSP Bharani Kumar, Lenin spilled the beans about the rise and fall of his relationship with the tainted swami.  Lenin told the police that he became disillusioned with the godman when he found that the latter’s behaviour was not in consonance with the vow of Brahmacharya or celibacy.
