New Delhi: The list of core probables of the senior men's hockey team has been pruned down to 33 from 48 after a three-day selection trials held at the SAI Centre, Bangalore from July 25-27, Hockey India said on Wednesday.

HI selectors B P Govinda, R P Singh and Arjun Halappa, High Performance Director Roelant Oltmans, senior men's team coach M K Kaushik and scientific advisor Jason Konrath, along with the government observer Harbinder Singh unanimously decided to prune down the list for the preparations of the ninth Asia Cup to be held in Ipoh, Malaysia from August 24 to September 1.

The camp of the senior men core probables is presently going on at the SAI Centre, Bangalore from July 16 and will continue till the team's departure for the Asia Cup, an HI statement said.

The curtailed list comprises four goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and 14 forwards.

List of senior men core probables:

Goalkeepers:/ Nanak Singh, P R Sreejesh, P T Rao, Sreenivasa Rao.

Defenders: Amit Rohidas, Harbir Singh Sandhu, Rupinder Pal Singh, V R Raghunath, Gurmail Singh, Kothajit Singh, Birendra Lakra.

Midfielders: Sardar Singh, Manpreet Singh, M B Aiyappa, Vikas Pillay, Prabhdeep Singh, Dharamvir Singh, Chinglensana Singh, S K Uthappa.

Forwards: Danish Mujtaba, Akashdeep Singh, Nithin Thimmaiah, Pradhan Somanna, S V Sunil, Gurvinder Singh Chandi, Talwinder Singh, Mandeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Malak Singh, Jasjeet Singh, Nikkin Thimmaiah, Harmanpreet Singh, M K Muddappa.
