CUTTACK: In a major development in the Balasore multicrore chit fund scam, the Orissa High Court has directed personal appearance of all directors of the tainted multi-level marketing company (MMC) Fine IndiSales Pvt Limited including Bollywood actor/producer Mohammad Nasser and aide Sayed Ahammad on March 21. The division bench comprising Chief Justice V Gopalagowda and Justice BN Mohapatra has directed the directors as well as the former directors of the MMC to report with their passports. The bench has further instructed them to furnish details of the assets of the company as well as that of the individual directors on the same date. The ICICI and Axis banks have also been directed to produce details of the money kept in the bank and if such amount has been reflected in the Income Tax returns filed by the company. Earlier, the Court had directed the Crime Branch to keep the seized money in a fixed deposit for a period of three months. The orders were issued during hearing on the petition filed by All India Networkers Welfare Trust, Bangalore, through its trustee K Selvaraj seeking directions to the Crime Branch and the banks to refund the deposits made by the Trust members. According to the petitioner, as the Crime Branch investigation is still going on, the depositors might not get back their money in the near future. The depositors being mostly persons from the lower income groups are facing serious hardships as their hard-earned money has been stuck. Considering their prayer, the Court passed the order.
