Chennai: The Madurai bench of Madras High Court has asked the producer of superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Lingaa' to deposit Rs.10 crore before 12 noon on Friday with the registrar of the Madurai bench. Until the the film will not be released in the theater.
The division bench of the Madras high court on Wednesday heard a writ petition filed by filmmaker K R Ravi Rathinam seeking to quash a single judge's order that dismissed his plea against the release of Rajinikanth-starrer latest film 'Lingaa' slated for release tomorrow. The petitioner K R Ravi Rathinam claims his story 'Mullai Vanam 999' is actually the story of 'Lingaa'.
'Lingaa' was shot in mostly in and around the picturesque Jog Falls area in Shimoga district of Karnataka.
The producer of the film, Rockline Venkatesh says that he will abide by the court order and everything will be sorted. He claims that 'Lingaa' will be released as per the schedule.
The movie will be released in Tamil and Telugu.
