Great Britain beat India 3-1 in men's hockey
Shivender Singh gave India the lead, but goals from James Tindall, Ashley Jackson and Harry Martin sealed the victory for Great Britain.

Santander: Great Britain came from behind to beat India 3-1 in men's tri-nation invitational hockey tournament here in Spain on Saturday.

Shivender Singh had given India the lead in the third minute, but James Tindall cancelled it out and made it 1-1 in the 17th minute through a brilliantly taken penalty corner.

Just two minutes into the second half, James Fair made a smart save at his near post to deny Tushar Khandekar but it proved to be the last good effort made by the Indians as the Olympics 2012 hosts took complete control of the match from there on.

Ashley Jackson made it 2-1 for the Britons in the 45th minute as he swiftly sent the ball past India skipper and goalkeeper Bharat Chhetri from the penalty spot. A stick foul on Tindall had forced the umpire to point towards the spot.

With eight minutes remaining, Harry Martin made it 3-1 when he fired in a rebound from Ashley Jackson.

Both the teams are now left with one more game before they leave for the London Olympics. Great Britain will take on the hosts Spain on Monday while India will play the same opponents on Wednesday.
