BNAGALORE: Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda has set July 10 as deadline for Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to stop acquisition proceedings pertaining to lands, one in Bangalore district and another in Mudhol taluk of Bagalkot district.
"The KIADB is still in possession of 43 acres of fertile land which it acquired for a sugar factory belonging to Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani. If these lands are not denotified and handed over to the owners, I will lead an agitation against the CM after July 10," Gowda told reporters. He said Yeddyurappa must fix a date before July 10 to visit Mudhol taluk and listen to the grievances of the farmers. "I am ready to travel to Mudhol along with the CM if he provides me a seat in his helicopter. If not, I will reach a day early and receive Yeddyurappa," Gowda
added.
