Understanding of godMy understanding of god is complex. Most often, he represents someone whom I can look up to and ask for the impossible. Sometimes, I see him as a person who has guided me through my life and given me the best of what life could offer. At other times, he has guided me through difficult situations. He is a person whom I call upon when I am in distress or in a bliss of happiness. When things go right, he becomes my friend and I never fail to send a thankful prayer upwards.Religious practices and spiritual beliefsOther than my daily prayers, I don't really follow any rituals because of my busy schedule and mostly because I do not believe that  god can be reached only through such rituals. Though I come from a very orthodox background, neither of my parents enforced any particular form of prayer or ritual. So, I have no specific spiritual belief other than the fact that I practise Hinduism.Favourite pilgrimage placesI have found that the Parthasarathy temple in Triplicane is a place where I feel connected to God. The other place I like to visit is the Srinivasa temple at TirupatiSpiritual experiencesI have felt god when I see special children perform dance with joy, when I see people overcoming their physical handicap and excelling in their chosen fields.I see him whenever I finish a complex surgery with ease. He is a guiding spirit.Faith in miraclesIf you believe in god you, have to believe in miracles. Every tiny atom and its movement is a miracle created by god. I am reminded of the famous Tamil verse, “Avanendri oranuvum asaiyadhu”, which means, “Without him not even an atom moves”.(Dr Sujatha Mohan runs Rajan Eye Care Centre in T Nagar along with her husband
