Gurgaon: A girl kidnapped from outside a college in Gurgaon on Monday morning has been freed and she is safe, say police officials. The incident in which two men kidnapped the girl from the back gate of DSD College in Gurgaon had sent shock waves across the National Capital Region and put a big question mark on the law and order in Haryana.

But the police have not yet revealed any details about the kidnappers. Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk confirmed the rescued girl is safe in her house. "Three names have come up who were involved in the kidnapping. We cannot disclose the identity of the accused as it might pose a threat to the life of the girl. All the three accused have been identified," said Virk.

The incident was captured in a CCTV camera which showed that the car was without a number plate. The girl even tried to escape but was overpowered by the men inside the car.

Some passersby ran after the car to rescue her but the vehicle sped away. An eyewitness said, "The girl was kidnapped by assailants in a car. There were two people in the white coloured car."

The incident happened at 9:40 AM and police took information from witnesses who saw the car speeding away. Police officials say no ransom call was made and they did not even receive any formal complaint.

While Gurgaon Police Commissioner MS Virk claimed that police do not know the identity of the girl and the kidnappers, he quickly added that the case would be solved soon. "I am confident we will be able to solve the incident within a few hours. The ACP is personally supervising the case," said Virk.

Jawahar Yadav, the OSD to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar, said, "The girl is fine and she has spoken to her relatives. The girl has been rescued."

Meanwhile, The Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon, Navdeep Singh Virk said, "Three kidnappers were arrested and further investigation is on."
