THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 17-year-old girl of Karumam near Nedumangad in the district has lodged a complaint with the police against her father accusing him of sexually abusing her. The girl came to the Nedumangad police station along with her mother the other day and lodged the complaint. Her father, Babu, a carpenter by profession, is absconding ever since the girl filed the complaint. In the complaint, she said that her father had been sexually abusing her for quite some time. He also used to physically torture her, she said in her complaint. Though her mother was aware of this, she did not tell anyone about this fearing disgrace. She even blackmailed her daughter saying that she would commit suicide if she dared to discuss the matter with others. The girl’s mother could not suffer long and decided to raise voice against her husband, the police said. The police said that the girl was mentally challenged and used to sleep with her parents.
