After being released from prison in Maharashtra, gangster Harshad Patankar was greeted by a jubilant celebration rally organised by his supporters due to which he was sent back to the jail soon after he was freed.
According to an NDTV report, the rally, which included a car procession and about 15 two-wheelers, took place from Bethel Nagar to Ambedkar Chowk in Maharashtra’s Nashik.
Soon after the rally, a video of his celebration procession went viral on social media triggering immediate police action.
In the viral video, Patankar can be seen waving at his supporters while coming out of the car’s sunroof. His supporters captioned the reels “comeback”.
Harshad Patankar, a gangster from Nashik, was jailed under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA).
The gangster was released on July 23. However, these videos prompted police action after which a case was registered against him at the Sarkarwada police station leading to Patankar’s re-arrest, along with his six aides, for carrying out the unauthorised rally and creating chaos.
For the unversed, several police cases have been registered against Patankar, including attempted murder, theft, and violence. This turn of events added to Patankar’s legal troubles.
