Bangalore: Japanese electronics manufacturer Fujitsu Ltd is set to release its smartphones in India and China in 2011 and 2012, in an effort to penetrate the overseas mobile market, the Nikkei business daily reported.
The company's offerings will include models compatible with Long Term Evolution (LTE) next-generation cell phone services capable of quick data transfers, President Masami Yamamoto told the newspaper.
Fujitsu hopes to sell 10 million phones by fiscal 2012, 60 percent more than fiscal 2010 estimates, according to the business daily.
The company integrated its cell phone operations with Toshiba Corp's in October, becoming the No. 2 player in the domestic market with a nearly 20 percent share.
It plans to make the joint venture with Toshiba a wholly owned unit during fiscal 2011, the Nikkei reported.
