Marussia driver Max Chilton has vowed to improve on his qualifying woes in the remaining part of the season.
Chilton, who made his F1 debut with Marussia this season, has so far been out-qualified by team-mate Jules Bianchi in all 10 grand prix so far this season.
"I am a little frustrated because qualifying has always been my strong point," said Chilton.
"If you look back at my time in Formula Three and GP2, I know I'm a quick driver. Qualifying is the one thing I've always been confident in. In qualifying in F1 the gaps (to Bianchi) have been a lot bigger than they should have, but that's down to a mixture of things. It's not always about looking at the timesheets. Sometimes you really have to know what is going on behind the scenes," Chilton said.
"On the simulators we're always very close because a lot of other things have been put to one side. It's not excuses. There are definitely things I can work on and I'm going to try to succeed at that. I know I've made a few mistakes, so it is the area on which I want to improve for the second half of the year because my race pace I've definitely been happy with," he added.
The 22-year-old Chilton will certainly look at his qualifying issues, along with his engineers, when he returns from holiday.
"It's always good to have time to refresh and look back. My first grand prix in Australia doesn't feel that long ago. It's amazing how quickly the races have flown by. But I've arranged meetings at the factory to have a debrief with the engineers, to talk things through with them, for them to give me advice and for me to tell them things I would like sorted," he added.
"The summer break is a good time to debrief, to work on things you want to improve and move on for the second half of the year which is very busy, as we know, because they're all back to back," the 22-year-old said.
