It is the fag end of 2013 and as we look back at the films that were released this year. From thrillers to romance to satires, 2013 had an interesting palate of films.
As we near to the end of the year, we present a series in which we look back at all the movies that released this year.
Starting this week, we present you the good, bad and ugly of Bollywood in 2013.
Table No 21: A couple becomes super adventurous in Fiji starts seducing each other in full public view. Who stopped them at their hotel?
Rajdhani Express: Leander Paes' face had more expressions on the tennis court than the film. Priyanchu Chatterjee's sleep talked his character.
Dehraadun Diary: Based on a real life murder, the film probably banked too much on the fictional audience. Adhyayan Suman looked uncomfortable.
Meri Shaadi Karao: The hero is so hot that the viewers wanted to serve him to the devils, along with the food. Later, the devil died laughing.
Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola: The pink buffalo still comes in Imran Khan's dreams. Anushka doesn't recognise Vishal Bhardwaj anymore.
Inkaar: If it was all about a lovers' tiff then why did you publicise it as a film on sexual harassment at the work place?
Mumbai Mirror: Sometimes, the makers also need to face the mirror. Sachiin Joshi played the quirky cop who falls for Gihana Khan.
Bandook: UP me chalti, MP me chalti, chalti Bihar din dahade me. Dum ho toh tu bhi daba le o ghoda, dum ho agar pichware me. The film didn't work anywhere.
Race 2: Two good for nothing 'stylish' people jump out from a plane in an Audi with four parachutes. Nobody knew why they were doing so.
AkaashVaani: Two lovers finally gathered the courage to confess their affection for each other in a TV serial like set-up. Well intentioned but too dramatic.
David: Bejoy Nambiar's film seemed to have much potential till the audience reached the theatre and realised that it was as vague as Salman Khan's tweets.
Vishwaroop: So much brouhaha right before the release of the film ensured that it got a good opening. Accused of being anti-muslim, the film actually turned out to be a secular film.
Mai...: The only thing that made the film tad bit interesting was legendary singer Asha Bhonsle's debut as an actress. But that alone cannot save a film, can it?
Listen... Amaya: One of 80s favourite pair Farouq Sheik and Deepti Naval paired up together for a film after almost two decades. And yes, they still make a lovable couple.
Deewana Main Deewana: Heard of the film? It had Govinda and Priyanka Chopra in it. Still doesn't ring a bell? We don't blame you. That's what happens when release date is delayed by 10 years!
Special 26: Why don't we get to see this amazing side of Akshay Kumar more often? Bunch of con artist con the police and loot a jewellery store posing as IT officials. Much fun!
ABCD - Any Body Can Dance: Trying to ape the west doesn't always lead to successful remakes. And casting good dancers but non actors in lead roles just adds to the midery. Point noted.
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story: Oh dear. When will Vivek Oberoi learn. Or is he that desperate to be part of solo hero projects?
Murder 3: No one was murdered in the film. Just a silly girl decided to teach her boyfriend with roving eyes a lesson and got locked up in a sound proof room.
Kai Po Che!: Whoever said that books are better than films should watch this film to know that sometimes films turn out to be way better than the books they are based on.
Zilla Ghaziabad: Too much noise, too torturous. And again, had Vivek Oberoi.
I, Me, aur Main: We have a feeling that ten years later, the film will be relevant and considered realistic.
