PUDUCHERRY: The electorate in Puducherry has gone up to 8,25,058 in the final voters list published on January 5, recording an increase of 15,043 voters over the draft rolls.During the revision, 26,340 voters were included, while 11,297 were deleted after verification, according to Chief Electoral Officer Belatee Pertin. Female voters with 427957 outnumbered male voters at 397094.Yanam continues to be the largest constituency with the highest electorate of 31,638 followed by Ariyankuppam with 31,452 and Mudaliarpet 30,056 voters. Orleanpet is the smallest constituency with 23,895 voters replacing Lawspet.The final electoral rolls will be on display for seven days from January 5 in all polling stations and in the office of the electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers for public inspection.The Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) for enrolled voters would be issued in the polling stations, except in case of newly enrolled voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years. The EPIC for these electors would be distributed on the National Voters’ Day to be held on January 25 at respective polling stations. The details would be intimated to the newly enrolled.A special campaign for enrolment of eligible electors of age groups 18 and 19 years will be held from Jan 5 to 15 in the office of electoral registration officer (ERO) and assistant electoral registration officer (AERO). Those eligible can enrol their names by submitting applications at the respective offices of ERO and AERO.
