London: Ace director Steven Spielberg, who was diagnosed with dyslexia only five years ago, says filmmaking helped him express himself. Spielberg, 65, began his career in 1973 and has won Oscars for his films 'Schindler's List' and 'Saving Private Ryan', reported Daily Mail.
"I never felt like a victim. Movies really helped me, kind of saved me from shame, from guilt. Making movies was my great escape. When I felt like an outsider, movies made me feel inside my own skill set," he said.
The Cincinnati-born filmmaker has never allowed the learning disability to interfere with his professional life and continues to work today. His latest project 'Lincoln' is set for release in November.
