FCI godown full of liquor, wheat kept out
Rajasthan's Minister for Civil Supplies says the previous BJP government let out the FCI godown to a brewery.

Jaipur: A Food Corporation of India godown in Jaipur has thrown out wheat to keep liquor.

A CNN-IBN investigation has revealed that the FCI godown in Jaipur is storing liqour even as thousands of sacks of wheat have been lying out in the open for the last three months and could rot.

Sources say the FCI godown has been stacked with liquor for the last three years. While for three months, nearly 45,000 metric tones of wheat meant for public distribution system supplies is lying at various places including the Kanakpura railway station near Jaipur.

Rajasthan's Minister for Civil Supplies Babu Lal Nagar claims that it was the previous Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state which let out the FCI godown to Rajasthan Breweries Corporation.

"It was the BJP government in the state which let out the FCI godown to Rajasthan Breweries Corporation Ltd since then it is being used to keep liquor," says Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Babu Lal Nagar.

However, BJP is blaming the Ashok Gehlot government saying he used to attack the previous BJP government's liberal liquor policy into an issue in the Assembly elections but is noe silent on liquor being soted in a FCI godown.

What should add to the government's worries is that Rajasthan is soon to receive the at least 2 lakh metric tones of wheat as a part of FCI's movement plan for the state.

The Opposition is now demanding that the government immediately resolve the matter with FCI.
