Fate of students at stake as DU scraps 4-year B Tech, BMS courses
The decision comes even as the B Tech students held vociferous protests on Saturday against the university.

New Delhi: With the Delhi University bowing to UGC directives and scrapping the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), no more admissions will be taking place for the 4-year B Tech and Bachelor in Management Sciences (BMS) courses.

The university's Principals' Association on Saturday cancelled the B Tech and BMS courses. Fate of thousands of students who are already enrolled under the FYUP hangs in the balance as a 12-member committee is yet to decide on their future.

These two courses were introduced in 2013.

The decision comes even as the B Tech students held vociferous protests on Saturday against the university. They began their protest from the Vice Chancellor's residence and ended it outside his office. They even tried to enter the VC's office, but were stopped from doing so by Delhi Police personnel and the Rapid Action Force (RAF).

The agitating students demanded that their course should not be converted to B Sc citing it will hold no value for them.
