Elderly couple attacked, house burgled

BANGALORE: Four men broke into a house and attacked an elderly couple before decamping with gold and silver ornaments worth about Rs 5 lakh on Haralur Road in HSR Layout police station limits on Sunday.
Subbaraya Reddy (67) and his wife Jayalakshmamma (62) have been admitted to a hospital.Police said the gang entered the house at around 3.30 am and attacked the couple with cricket bats. They snatched the cupboard key from them and took away 300 grams of gold ornaments, three kg of silver ornaments and some cash and fled the scene.
