Eight armed cops for Akbars security

HYDERABAD: A day after MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was discharged from the Care Hospital, the city police volunteered to provide four gunmen to the MLA. And now he did not refuse them.Though no formal request was made by the Owaisi brothers, Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan has decided to provide Akbaruddin with four gunmen besides armed security at the MLA’s Banjara Hills residence. Sources in the city police said that after the attack on the MLA senior police officials have decided to provide him two gunmen  while he was undergoing treatment at Care Hospital. “Now that Akbaruddin was discharged from the hospital, we got orders from the higher-ups that he should be given additional gunmen. This time the security was not refused which was obvious,’’ a senior official told Express. Since Akbaruddin would be confined to his house for sometime as doctors advised him rest, the city police beefed up security at his residence.  According to the officials in CAR Headquarters,  eight police personnel have been deployed at his residence from Saturday. “We got orders from the commissioner that eight armed personnel be deployed near his house. This was done after taking into consideration the threat Akbaruddin continues to have from Mohammed Pahelwan’s associates,’’ an officer said. All visitors to his house are being thoroughly frisked.Sources said that Akbar’s elder brother and MP Asaduddin Owaisi had a discussion with police commissioner and other highr-ups about the security to be provided to Akbaruddin.
