New Delhi: Two Delhi University professors have been suspended by the Vice Chancellor on charges of sexual harassment.
It's been reported that both the cases were being probed for the last couple of months.
The University has recommended expulsion of the two professors after indicting them in two sexual harassment cases, following a massive student protest in the campus on the issue three days back.
The Executive Committee of DU met and recommended the termination of services of Prof Gurcharan Singh Arshi of the Punjabi department and Atul Razdan, a reader at the Mathematics department, after finding them guilty, university officials were quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
Three cases of sexual harassment came up for discussion during the Executive Committee meeting.
The authorities were yet to take a decision in the sexual harassment case allegedly involving Bidyut Chakrabarty of Gandhi Bhawan in DU.
Last week, students staged a protest outside the DU vice-chancellor's office in north campus demanding that the authorities expedite the probe in the cases.
