BANGALORE: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director E Sreedharan on Thursday said that punctuality is the key. At the convocation function of M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Sreedharan said, “We were stressing on punctuality right from the day when Delhi Metro work started and the workers were not allowed to come more than five minutes late. Today, we run around 3,000 trains in a day and if a train arrives more than 60 seconds late it is considered late. Yet, 99.7 per cent of the trains run on time. This is one of the key factors for Delhi Metro’s success.”Expressing his happiness over the successful inauguration of Reach-1 of Bangalore Metro on the sidelines of the function, Sreedharan said, “We were there when Bangalore Metro was conceived and sanctioned. I am sure that the Reach-2 is also completed and inaugurated at the earliest. The people and the administrators should realise the importance of the Metro and maintain it properly to utilize the facility for a very long time.”
