New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal is likely to file his nomination papers on Saturday for Delhi assembly elections. It's the last day for nominations for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls. Some Congress and BJP candidates will also file their papers on Saturday.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as well as BJP CM hopeful Harsh Vardhan both filed had their nomination papers three days ago.
Meanwhile, AAP on Friday completed its list of candidates for Delhi Assembly polls by announcing Dataram Bainsla as its nominee for Ghonda constituency. With this the party has announced candidates on all the 70 seats.
The AAP had on Thursday decided to pitch 63-year-old Ishrat Ali Ansari, a Supreme Court lawyer, against BJP's Chief Ministerial nominee Harsh Vardhan and Congress' VK Monga from Krishna Nagar seat.
The party had faced problems finding a suitable candidate for Krishna Nagar constituency as it was looking for a formidable candidate against Vardhan and two of its selected candidates refused to contest elections from the seat.
AAP had started the process of finalising names for the polls in April and had thought to finish the process within two months, but it took seven months to complete the process.
