Davis Cup team wants Paes out | Rastogi speaks out
Bhupathi and Co. have made it clear they will not play under Leander.

New Delhi: In a startling incident following India's Davis Cup win against Uzbekistan in the Capital recently, Davis Cuppers Mahesh Bhupathi, Rohan Bopanna, Karan Rastogi and Prakash Amritraj have written a letter to the All India Tennis Association, making it clear that they will not play under Leander Paes if he was captain of the Davis Cup team.

Trouble had been brewing during the Davis Cup tie earlier this month when questions had been raised as to why Leander Paes had decided that Prakash Amritraj would not play on day one.

Despite reports of him being fit, there had been rumours of a rift between Amritraj junior and captain Paes following that incident.

Some of the points raised in the letter have questioned Paes' ability as a captain to take decisions and communicate well with his team members.

And the General Secretary of the AITA Anil Khanna has commented on the issue saying, "Yes. We have received the letter from the players and it's an internal matter. It needs to be resolved before India's next tie. Our decision will be based on what is best for tennis in our country."
