Dancers to go global with Swingers

CHENNAI: Ten competitive dancers emerged winners in Dancers Hunt 2011, conducted by the Swingers, a leading dance company affiliated with the New York-based Broadway Dance Centre. Nilanshorj, Sacchin, Kavya, Krishnamithra, Kruti, Nandakumar, Firoza, Aparna, Raju, Natrajar were among the hundreds of contestants who vied for a place in the grand finale. They will be a part of Swingers’ global performing community which will give them exposure to teaching dance, scholarship dance programmes abroad, working under renowned choreographers and performing with stars. Both male and female dancers above 16 years participated in the contest and the audition consisted of three different rounds — solo, fundamental movements and choreography for professionals.
