A woman from Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu who was raped as a minor has now married her rapist.
In 2015, the rape victim had resisted the Madras High Court's suggestion to marry her rapist but is now living with him against her family's wishes.
This even after the High Court set aside its suggestion after protest from activists. The rape survivor has a six-year-old child as a result of the rape.
Mohan, the rape accused, was acquitted by the Cuddalore Manila court after the woman declared that they had reached a compromise.
